X-Rom™ and X-Rom Lite™:

X-Rom™ is unique new technology - developed as a non-server CD/DVD interactive catalog complete with ordering abilities. It has the further ability to address with broadband marketing, the same demographics traditionally targeted by print catalogs. Print catalogs revolutionized marketing in the 20th Century. X-Rom has the ability to assume that role in the 21st century.

X-Rom eCatalogs™ bundle a web browser together with a virtual shopping cart, thus eliminating incompatibilities. They are economical to produce and distribute through traditional postal services or bundled with products, magazines, software or even in cereal boxes.

File sizes and bandwidth are not issues, since eCatalogs contain everything right on their disks. X-Rom(tm) eCatalogs can contain sound, movies and interactive content. These remote eCatalogs can connect with the vendor's existing web site and can even connect to existing third party server shopping carts.

X-Rom™ technologies include complete secure ordering capabilities using fax, mail, and electronic transmission through standard secure Internet gateways including, but not limited to, eCatalogBuilders' own iTransfer gateway.

X-Rom eCatalogs production is similar to web site layout and design. At present, the company maintains and controls all of the design and production of eCatalogs, but it can also be licensed. Services include the conversion to HTML or PDF from print layout programs like QuarkXpress, PageMaker, Adobe InDesign, Freehand or Canvas and conversion into the eCatalogs. Back-end services are fully integrated with the clients remote back office and fulfillment systems through custom created interfaces. A recent project included interfacing with the Great Plains Accounting system, providing a shared web/retail inventory system.

X-Rom Lite™ includes several of the same features as the X-Rom cart but is written in Java, and soon will be usable with both MAC and Windows browsers. X-Rom Lite source code compiles into a very small applet zip file making it very suitable for use on mini CDs/DVDs or packaged on other media devices. It can also be downloaded to be ran locally from either Unix or NT host servers.

One of the most exciting and promising aspects of X-Rom and X-Rom Lite, is the ability to reach the television marketplace. Television Commercials are costly. But the same multimedia approach can be put in eCatalogs and distributed with far less expense and can display video and audio with interactive menus complete with ordering abilities. With the new set-top boxes, iDVD players, and digital games systems the hardware is already available for the general public to view these disks promotions on their TV sets. Alternatively, commercial presentations and interactive catalogs can be bundled with new DVD movies or games releases. Film festival and music events are already being offered in this manner. It is evident that developments in this area will revolutionize the future of marketing. X-Rom is a vital piece of this technological development and it can run on several of these new devices, now.

A potentially valuable sales device built into X-Rom Lite synchronizes with the customer's computer clock to time future sales programs right down to the day, hour and minute, so such things as Chistmas or Easter sales can be placed in catalogs unseen, to automatically activate at the exact right time.

CatalogBuilder Cart™ is our ultra friendly, ultra powerful web shopping cart. It is designed especially for website designers, both professional and do-it-yourself. Kits of these BuyObjects(tm) already exist for Adobe GoLive, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Hotmetal Pro and others, and have garnered enthusiastic international response from users. This ease of use does not interfere with direct hand coding for those who prefer that method. These BuyObjects come in styles to accommodate the majority of purchasing situations, and can be modified to serve special requirements. The variation these objects is limited only by the technology of the web itself.
